Description

Seramis is an innovative clay granule, made from 100% fired natural clay. The porous granules are designed to replace soil as such for indoor and balcony plants, but its versatile properties drive it’s popularity as a growing medium supplement, both indoors and outdoors. Seramis offers benefits for both users and plants - roots develop in optimal conditions and you enjoy fewer watering sessions.

The porous clay granules absorb and store water like a sponge, staying evenly moist for long periods and releasing water to the plant as needed. The high water holding capacity allows for less frequent and higher watering rates - for example, 30 liters of Seramis can hold 12 litees of water, allowing for a long 3-4 week cottage stay in the mid-summer heat.

The structure of Seramis keeps the growing medium fluffy and aerated, thus preventing the adverse effects of over-watering - the soil does not compact, the plant does not suffocate, and excess water does not rot the root system. Unlike soil, the roots of plants planted in Seramis have sufficient oxygen and more space to grow and function, even when the clay granules are saturated with water. Plan root hairs grow into the fine-pored surface of the clay granule, absorbing water, nutrients and oxygen as needed.

The structure of the clay granules is durable; it does not acidify, compact, expand, or lose its airiness and absorption capacity. Seramis is easy and clean to use, and can be stored outside in freezing temperatures.

Use
The Seramis plant granules are suitable for all houseplants, and repotting of the plants is possible all year round.

Planting with 100% Seramis
For repotting, you need: pot(s) (waterproof for indoor plants, holed for rainwater drainage if outdoor plants), one watering indicator per pot, fertilizer, and Seramis. The ideal ratio is generally 2/3 Seramis to 1/3 root ball, so approx. 20L seramis for a 30L pot.
•Remove the plant from the pot.
•Fill the new, slightly larger pot to 1/3 with Seramis.
•Put the plant in the pot and fill with granules.
•Optional: Insert the Seramis watering indicator into the root zone of the plant to conveniently monitor watering needs.
•Watering: Water evenly. The optimal watering quantity is about 1/4 of the pot volume.
•Fertilizing: Regularly feed the plants with watering, as the plant granules contain only a small amount of nutrients. We recommend Seramis liquid vital food for green or flowering plants, which is optimally designed for the granules.

Mixtures
Although Seramis works great on its own, you can also mix Seramis with soil or create your own soil-free growing medium!

•Soilless growing medium: The materials and their ratio in aare often chosen according to the plant (or your mood). In addition to Seramis, there are many options: coconut fibre, biochar, vermiculite, perlite, hydroleca, pine bark, etc.

•Mix Seramis with soil to improve soil aeration and water retention. Watering intervals are extended and pots are lightened. Seramis is ideal for patio and balcony plants that want to move back into their winter homes in the autumn.

The original clay granules are at the heart of the Seramis system and brand. Seramis growing media specially designed for orchids, cacti and palm trees are also available.
