Alun perin kauppias Helge Wandelin huvilalle suunniteltu penkki sai St Catherine -nimen vasta 1950-luvulla: penkki nimettiin Oxfordissa sijaitsevan St Catherine Collegen mukaan, jonka puistoon Jacobsen suunnitteli ensimmäisen suuremman ulkomaanprojektinsa.
