Shimano oil service set for 8-speed internally geared hubs - with oil and immersion bucket With the Shimano Oil Service Set you can service 3, 5, 7 and 8-speed internally geared hubs. It consists of a canister containing 1 litre of oil and a vessel in which the inner gear unit is immersed, left side down, up to the first sprocket for 90 seconds. Then drain the excess oil for about 1 minute. This ensures an even oil change. This maintenance oil is reusable. The set is not suitable for 11-speed internally geared hubs; a special service kit is separately available for these.
