Alkuperäinen VideoMicro on äärimmäisen suosittu "entry level" kameramikrofoni joka on inspiroinut lukemattomia kopioita. Uusi VideoMicro II hyödyntää NTG5:sesta tuttua annular line tube -teknologiaa joka tekee siitä edeltääjäänsä huomattavasti suuntaavamman nostaen äänen laadun uudelle tasolle. Lisäksi VideoMicro II on ensimmäinen mikrofoni, joka käyttää RODE:n uutta patentoitua HELIX-kehtoa, jonka tarjoama runkoäänien vaimennus on aivan omaa luokkaansa.
