Although the new telescope weighs only 1500 grams and measures only 365 mm (including the eyepiece), it offers birders and outdoor enthusiasts access to the detail and brightness usually only found in larger and heavier binoculars. With a compact and lightweight body and a 66 mm lens makes the TSN-66 Prominar the ideal tool for those who want to travel light without compromising image quality when they arrive at their favorite destination.

The TSN-66 inherits several optical designs and intelligent improvements previously developed for the latest TSN-88 / 99 large lens models. The improved optical coating and fluorite crystal lens ensure high transmittance at all wavelengths of visible light and produce an image free of chromatic aberration and negative optical interference. Kowa's unique KR coating on the front lens actively repels dirt, moisture and dust from accumulating on the lens.

The body is made of magnesium alloy and has several features typical of the Prominar series, such as dual focus, two tripod mounts and a clip-on sight. Kowa's dual focus makes it easy to quickly get a sharp image every time. Quick Focus brings your subject into detail in a few smooth turns, while Fine Focus offers precise fingertip control for ultra-precise focus. The frame made of magnesium alloy not only provides durability but also guarantees a light structure. With a fully sealed outer frame, the scope is 100% waterproof and nitrogen-filled, making it weatherproof. The front has a 72mm filter thread for easy attachment of protective filters, and features a smooth screw-on sun visor with an improved aiming point to help locate your target faster.

The telescope is available in two versions, TSN-66A (angle) and TSN-66S (straight). Cross compatibility is a basic feature of all Kowa Prominar scopes, and the TSN-66 is no exception. The accessory collar and bayonet mount are 100% compatible with the entire Kowa System accessory range, making it a very versatile scope.
