The Animal Care Station is located along the river. Here the native animals are cared for and reared. To access the station either the staircase or, on the river side, a footbridge can be used. The station is well equipped with treatment room with table, movable operating lamp, scales, heat lamp and illuminated monitor for viewing x-rays. A ladder leads to the station&aposs top floor. Food is stored there and equipment for insect research is available. After successful treatment, the animals can use the two outdoor enclosures for recreation. Currently, a tapir and an ocelot family are housed there. As soon as the animals are healthy again, they will be released into the wild.
