Wireless UHM-251 recessed dimmer

UHM-251, representing the new M series, is a flush-mounted receiver that is installed between the supply voltage and the light, for example in a distribution or instrument box. After this, the light can be turned on, off and dimmed with radio frequency controllers linked to the receiver.

WIRELESS M and LC series controllers are used to control the UHM-251. The most important controllers are SLO-10 and SLM-12R, which, together with the receiver, can completely replace traditional wired light switches. At the same time, you can easily control the light (including dimming!) from several points. Up to 32 controllers can be linked to control the same receiver.
There is no need to have line of sight between the controller and the UHM-251, but the connection works through a wall, for example. The linking of the controllers remains in the UHM-251's memory even during a power outage.

If desired, the UHM-251 can also be controlled with a wired electrical switch (e.g. a traditional light switch). The switch must be of a non-locking type. A reversible push-button switch or a reversible rocker switch can be used as a switch, for example.

UHM-251 offers excellent compatibility for current lighting loads. Both leading edge and trailing edge dimming can be selected as the dimming method. The minimum level of light brightness can be set to suit the lighting load being controlled, and a simple on/off function can also be selected if a lamp unsuitable for dimming has to be used as the load.

The dimmable LED lighting load must be intended for use with dimmers. The availability of dimmable, low-energy-consuming lamps and lamps is good these days. Traditional so-called resistive lighting loads, such as 230V incandescent lamps and 230V halogen lamps, are always suitable for dimming.

A maximum of 120W dimmable LED lamp load can be connected to the receiver. The limit is indicated very moderately for the load power factor (λ) of 0.5. For example, with a typical >0.9 power factor of a dimmable LED transformer, a maximum of 250W can be connected to the load.

The UHM-251 is compatible with predefined Scene Status features. In the current collection, the Scene Status feature can be found in the AVM-10 controller.

*With a load of less than 20W, the performance depends on the characteristics of the LED transformer. For example, the brightness level of Low may remain slightly higher than usual. Power factor (λ) of the transformers for the indicated maximum load >0.9.
