This makes it possible to use a larger aperture or longer shutter speeds, without overexposing the image. The feature is ideal, for example, when taking portraits, when you want to separate the subject from its background with the shortest possible depth of field. The subject/person is then drawn sharp and the background blurred. The gray filter is also practical when photographing moving water, in which case the water is made to flow uniformly, thanks to a longer exposure time.
With the circular polarization filter, you can remove reflections from bright surfaces, such as water and windows. With the filter, it is also possible to emphasize the colors of the image, for example the blue of the sky. You can take a picture that is brighter, more contrasty and more colorful. By turning the filter, you can change the effect it gives. You get the biggest difference when you turn the filter at a 90 degree angle to the sun.
